PERSONNEL VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Associate Pastor / Minister to Youth and Children

Posting Date: March 17, 2023

Primary Purposes: Introduce young people to Christ; facilitate their spiritual growth using the Word of God; train them to serve Christ; counsel them regarding their personal walk; assist the Senior Pastor in ministering to the congregation and community.  

Specific Duties:  
- impart knowledge of the love of Jesus Christ to children and youth
- work in conjunction with the senior pastor on a pre-approved plan of ministry
- assist the senior pastor in worship services as needed (children’s message, pulpit supply, etc.)
- play an integral role in Vacation Bible School
- assist the senior pastor with public relations to the church family
- aid in the coordination of the church calendar
- ensure programs for children&youth maintain a proper balance of spiritual, emotional & social growth
- build working relationships with the church family
- schedule, coordinate & supervise activities, service projects, mission trips/retreats for children&youth
- be knowledgeable of cultural trends concerning children & youth
- evaluate and make recommendations concerning teaching materials for children & youth
- help to establish opportunities for young adults

Qualifications:
-  must be a born-again believer with a maturing relationship with Christ
-  must be ordained
- must be a graduate / future-graduate w/ degree in Theology, Christian Education, or Youth ministry
- must have some prior experience in an established children or youth program
- must demonstrate genuine Christ-like love and maintain positive rapport with children & youth
- must be sensitive to the needs and pressures of children and youth
- must be able to teach, train, and disciple volunteers
- must adhere to the Constitution/By-Laws and doctrinal statement of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church
- must possess organizational and administration abilities
- must be able to respond to changing needs throughout the daily/weekly schedule

Salary: Commensurate with experience and advanced degrees
