Modest Town Baptist Church is seeking an ordained pastor with a minimum education of a seminary degree. Our Church seeks to spread the love of Christ to the upper Eastern Shore of Virginia, to our state, and to the world. Modest Town is a quaint, seaside Village located in Accomack County. We are 20 minutes from the NASA Wallops Flight Facility and Chincoteague Island. In addition, we are just minutes away from beaches and coastal waterways which provide recreation and a great example of God’s beauty. Modest Town Baptist Church was established in 1829 and is aligned with the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV). The candidate should be an effective preacher who is a leader and has a vision for growing the church. The candidate should also have strong Biblical knowledge and be effective in planning and leading worship. In addition, the candidate should be a humble and caring individual who is eager to create a strong Christian bond with our church family and the community. The pastor, with assistance from the church, provides overall leadership. Responsibilities include preaching, teaching and worship, pastoral care, and outreach to the community. The pastor’s salary package range is $50,000-$60,000. In addition, housing is also provided (parsonage located near the church).
