Mineral Baptist Church (MBC), located in Mineral, Virginia, is seeking a man called of God to be Senior Pastor for their growing congregation. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 7 years of experience as a full-time ministry leader, be a Southern Baptist Minister in good standing, and have a master’s degree from an accredited seminary or divinity school – Southern Baptist preferred. MBC is an active and vibrant church with a wide variety of programs available to the community for all ages. Outreach programs include: “Upward Sports” for soccer, basketball, cheerleading and flag football; “Centershot” archery; Mineral Christian Preschool, Mineral Christian School, and VBS. Discipleship programs include men’s, women’s and 55+ ministries, youth group, Sunday school, Wednesday night Bible study and “Dig In” children’s ministry. Music ministries include a worship team, choir, bell choir, monthly community worship, “Mineral Spirits” and youth choir. Average weekly Sunday service attendance (in person and online) is approximately 200. The Senior Pastor will lead two full-time and two part-time staff personnel. MBC is located in Mineral, Virginia at the heart of Louisa County, close to Lake Anna, Virginia. The county’s population is approximately 41,000 and was the 3rd fastest growing county in the state of Virginia in 2023; the county is known as a family friendly community with a variety of local activities. Job Description Primary duties and responsibilities: • The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church and is responsible for leading the Church to function as a New Testament Church, aligning with church vision, mission and strategic plan. He will lead the Church to function as a fellowship of believers involved in worship, prayer, proclamation, religious education, ministry, discipleship training and application of spiritual truths to daily life. • He will facilitate up to two or more Sunday services each week, as well as, Bible study on Wednesdays. • He will be a faithful student of the Bible and as a preacher/teacher to present well-organized, Bible-based sermons and lessons that edify, challenge and encourage the church, as well as, promote the passionate worship of God. • The Senior Pastor will be responsible for general supervision of staff and office personnel; he will be an ex-officio member of all teams and the deacon body; he will provide guidance and oversight in a manner that encourages all committees, ministry leaders and staff to develop wisdom in decision making, and to grow in independence, leadership and discipleship. • The Senior Pastor will arrange for, or designate, pulpit supply and Church leadership when away, utilizing the talents of ministry staff when appropriate. • The Senior Pastor will work with the deacon committee, ministry leaders, staff and designated congregation members to assess vision and develop and implement an annual strategic plan, anticipating future needs and growth. • The Senior Pastor will administer the believer’s Baptism, Communion, funerals, weddings, and child dedications; provide pastoral care, counseling, homebound, and hospital visits. • The Senior Pastor will work with church members and attendees to help them identify how they can utilize their gifts to serve the Lord within the church and in missions and ministry. Qualifications and Experience: • Theology in alignment with the inerrant and uncompromised Word of God. • A male Southern Baptist Minister, in good standing. • Master’s Degree from an accredited seminary or divinity school – Southern Baptist preferred. • Minimum requirement of 7 years of experience as a full-time ministry leader; 10+ years preferred.
