The Children’s Minister will be a part time position dedicated to the spiritual development of children and families attending First Baptist Church of Danville. The Children’s Minister will work closely with the Children’s Committee to provide programming and instructional support to the life and work of the church through its youngest members. Responsibilities: • Provide staff resource support for the children’s and preschool ministries lay leadership groups as they recruit, enlist and train volunteers for ongoing ministries such as Sunday school, as well as annual events. • Serve as the primary leader in developing and coordinating educational, mission and ministry opportunities for youth between the ages of infant-18. • Provide staff resource support to youth lay leaders and work in conjunction with the Youth Committee to provide a comprehensive ministry to youth and their families. • Plan and direct Sunday and Wednesday evening ministry activities for youth. • Encourage innovation and creativity in shaping fresh approaches to church life. • Attend Children’s Committee meetings • Provide supervision and direction by meeting with the Nursery Worker at least monthly. • Perform other duties as assigned
