Immediate Supervisor: Worship Pastor
Principal Function(s): The Church Organist shall accompany the traditional worship services and provide service music as needed.
Responsibilities:
1. Play for all regularly scheduled traditional services of the church and limited special events, such as concerts and programs which are church-wide in scope and intent.
2. Play at additional meetings within the church at the discretion of the Worship Pastor in consultation with the Church Organist. This is subject to planning far ahead, agreement with the organist, and availability of the organist.
3. Serve as accompanist for some of the Sanctuary Choir rehearsals, typically two per month.
4. Communicate regularly with the Worship Pastor for planning services and programs. This is not a regularly scheduled meeting, per se, but regular communication.
5. Advise the Worship Pastor regarding any maintenance issues of the church organ and other church keyboard instruments. Assist him in procuring and scheduling organ tuners and technicians.
6. Provide information on service music to be included in the church bulletin according to deadlines given.
7. **Weekly average hours include off-site personal music study and rehearsal time.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

SPECIAL NOTES:
1) The only specific on-campus hours required are 9-12 Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights 6-8pm. Organist plays for 11:00 traditional service only.
a. Only two Wed. night rehearsals per month required, though welcome at all.
b. Choir rehearsal room has two pianos, no organ.
c. Choir periodically moves rehearsal to sanctuary to allow for rehearsal with organ.
2) Funerals & weddings are not required. Organist may take these as desired and will be paid separately.
3) Typically, the only required dates other than above are Holy Week (Wed. & Thursday nights & Saturday morning rehearsal), Christmas Concert (Saturday morning rehearsal and Sunday afternoon concert, Christmas Eve p.m. services, and spring choir concert which is held only every other year.
