Duties: Develop a musical program to support the evangelical ministry of the Church  Work collaboratively with choirs to arrange and provide music suitable to skills of choirs Develop, train, and encourage musical talents and voice ranges of Choir members Arrange choral workshops, as necessary, to advance harmony of choirs and musicians Supervise assigned musicians’ rehearsals and performances Lead and guide choir and congregation in uplifting songs of praise and worship. Work collaboratively with Media Ministry and Worship Coordinator Coordinate for participation of musicians and choirs at funerals and other special programs conducted by the Church Prepare musical programs to commemorate mutually agreed holiday seasons recognized and requested by the Church Select and recommend purchase of music in coordination with the choir and designated choir leadership personnel Ensure all music, lyrics and versions selected for use are listed in the Church-identified data base to ensure strict compliance with copyright laws Distribute authorized music to choir members in a timely manner to facilitate learning, effective rehearsals and refined presentations Ensure songs selected for respective services are adequately rehearsed prior presentation  Meet with Chairman, BoT or designee on regular basis. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Formal training and at least 10 years of experience playing piano, keyboards and/or organ in a church setting. Able to read music, direct choir members and operate piano/keyboard to facilitate harmony enhanced by accompanying musicians (percussionist/drums, horns, guitar). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: At a minimum, must be able to make independent decisions, communicate well in writing and orally, and have strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Must also possess an attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks. Excellent customer service skills. An ability to work well with others in the accomplishment of shared goals and a willingness and ability to lead voices in synchronous harmony. Working Conditions and Physical Effort: The job will primarily be carried out in a church office setting and requires sitting, standing, and bending. Normally working conditions are good, well-lit, clean, free of debris. There is minimal lifting not to exceed twenty (20) pounds. Annual Salary: $20,800. Applicants must be willing to submit to (and successfully complete) a background check. Reports directly to the Chairperson, Board of Trustees.
