We are seeking a Family Pastor/Director who is responsible for shepherding, developing, and leading a Next Generation ministry that encompasses children, youth, and families. Equally important is an outward-facing posture: actively pursuing relationships with unchurched families and young people in our community to connect them to the life and mission of the church.
This is a pastoral calling to families: walking with young people through formative seasons of life, and extending the reach of our church into schools, neighborhoods, and the broader community.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shepherd relationships with children, students, and families inside and outside the church
- Engage with unchurched families and young people in the community through schools, events, and local organizations
- Serve as a caring first contact for families in difficult seasons
- Oversee Sunday discipleship gatherings, curriculum, and a safe, welcoming environment
- Recruit, train, and support volunteer teachers and leaders
- Equip parents as primary disciplers; foster intergenerational connection
- Manage Planning Center including a check-in/check-out system for services/events
- Lead discipleship gatherings for students
- Recruit, train, and support volunteer adult leaders
- Develop student leadership and maintain regular family contact
- Create community and pathways to belonging for ages 18–30
- Maintain child safety protocols, background checks, and emergency procedures
- Manage Next Gen budget and communicate with parents and volunteers
Qualifications
- Genuine, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Clear pastoral calling with a heart for the next generations
- A gift of hospitality, using the table to build relationships with believers and non-believers alike
- Demonstrated integrity, humility, and emotional maturity, with a humble and personal prayer life
- Active participation in the life of the local church
- Ability to thrive in a season of revitalization — bringing initiative and follow-through to turn dreams and vision into reality
- Prior experience in children’s, youth, or family ministry preferred
- Education and experience that demonstrates readiness for pastoral ministry
- Ability to recruit, develop, and retain volunteers
- Familiarity with ministry technology a plus
- Strong communication, organizational, and vision-casting skills
- Self-motivated, able to work independently while remaining accountable to church leadership
- Flexible schedule including Sundays, some evenings, and occasional weekends
