Title: Financial Administrator Objective: Enhance the mission of Second Baptist Church by overseeing the daily financial responsibilities of church activities, including purchasing, budgeting, payroll, and giving. Collaborate with church staff, lay financial leaders, church members, and vendors to further the church’s ministries with integrity. Supervisor: Director of Administration Classification: Full-time (Non-Exempt) Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, regular office hours Rate: $45,825—48,750 annual, commensurate with experience Benefits: Medical and dental coverage paid 100%, short/long term disability and life insurance/AD&D paid 100%, retirement contributions matched up to 3%, annual PTO and paid holidays Position Responsibilities: 1. Provide accurate, caring service to church members and guests in a timely manner. 2. Maintain general ledger through review, posting, and journal entries. 3. Maintain member giving records and issue tax statements for charitable donations. 4. Count Sunday offerings and scan checks; take cash to bank when reconciled, and record other deposits as needed. 5. Import online offerings; post to ledger and church member records. 6. Maintain payroll system and run payroll as required throughout the month. 7. Maintain petty cash, the church safe, and point-of-sale revenues for Midweek Meal. 8. Assist in the annual budgeting process (annual) and in creating the Book of Reports (biannual) for church business meetings. 9. Serve as Secretary for the church's monthly Finance Committee meetings. 10. Other duties as assigned to assist with church office operations. The ideal candidate will meet the following: 1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Business. 2. Minimum five years experience as an Accountant or Full-Charge Bookkeeper. 3. Experience working in a church environment preferred. 4. Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, payroll processing software (ADP or similar), church management software (ACS or similar). 5. Experience in budget creation and management. 6. Exemplary character and moral judgment to maintain the highest ethical standards and confidentiality. 7. Excellent communication and team-building skills to effectively coordinate with church members, and other employees to reflect the values of the church’s mission.
