A relational and inspirational leader, Pastor Robert prioritizes pastoring and shepherding church members, visitors, and the community. He has established a 10-year strategic focus for FBCA. Our 25-member pastoral and support staff operate with a family-like approach, demonstrating deep love for one another and the church body. Kids’ Connection is shepherded directly by Kim Eskridge, Pastor for Children. Pastor Kim enjoys leading through relationship-building and collaboration. In order to strengthen and expand our ministry to families, First Baptist is seeking a Kids Team Assistant who will work directly under the leadership of Pastor Kim and in collaboration with other staff members. This full-time position offers benefits and the option to work remotely some days. Position Profile Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with the Pastor for Children to plan discipleship opportunities for children and families. • Manage and lead in recruiting and equipping a strong team of volunteer leaders. • Ensure all volunteers are thoroughly screened and follow safety and security policies and procedures. • In cooperation with other Kids’ Connection staff members, oversee Sunday morning discipleship groups, as well as other groups that meet throughout the year. • As needed, partner with other ministries (youth, music, etc.) to accomplish ministry goals. Requirements: • A call to lead in Children’s Ministry and a growing faith in Jesus Christ. • Active membership in First Baptist Church of Alexandria. • Experience and demonstrated skill in teaching and caring for children, at least two years preferred. • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. • Proficiency in or ability to be trained in Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel, Word, Publisher, Church Community Builder, Subsplash, and other programs. • Strong relational and administrative/organizational skills. • Ability to work well within a team environment.
