Pastor/Director for Next Generation Ministries About the Role Parkwood Baptist Church in Annandale, Va is seeking a passionate, spiritually mature, and visionary Pastor for Next Generation Ministries to lead and develop ministry to children, youth, young adults, and their families. This person will help cultivate a Christ-centered environment where the next generation can grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, serve others, and become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. Primary Responsibilities • Provide spiritual leadership, vision, and direction for ministries serving youth, young adults, and families. • Recruit, train, equip, and encourage volunteers and ministry leaders. • Develop age-appropriate discipleship opportunities, Bible teaching, small groups, worship experiences, service projects, and outreach events. • Partner with parents and guardians by providing resources, encouragement, and pastoral care as they disciple youth and young adults. • Leads the Parkwood Youth Ministry team and works closely with our Children’s Ministry Coordinator. • Work collaboratively with the pastoral team, Parkwood staff and ministry teams to align Next Generation Ministries with the overall mission and vision of Parkwood Baptist Church. • Build healthy relationships with our youth, young adults, families, volunteers, schools, and the surrounding community. • Oversee ministry schedules, curriculum, communication, safety practices, and ministry budget. • Participate in worship services, church-wide events, pastoral care, and other ministry responsibilities as needed. Qualifications • A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a clear calling to ministry and a growing personal faith aligned with Baptist beliefs and theology. • Have pursued or actively pursuing pastoral ordination. • Experience in youth and young adult ministry, with a proven track record of successfully engaging and discipling young individuals. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to youth and young adults from diverse backgrounds. • Creative and innovative mindset, capable of designing engaging and relevant programs and activities. • Proficiency in using social media and technology for communication and outreach. • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop teams of volunteers. • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. • Committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
