Bethel Baptist Church, a loving and welcoming rural Baptist congregation, is prayerfully seeking a full-time Pastor to serve as our spiritual leader. We desire a man called by God who is deeply rooted in Scripture, passionate about preaching and teaching the Word, and dedicated to shepherding people of all ages. The Pastor will live among the congregation and be actively involved in both church life and the surrounding community. Key Responsibilities: Preaching & Worship Leadership • Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Bible-based preaching and teaching. • Lead weekly Sunday morning worship service. • Administer the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. • Conduct weddings, funerals, and other pastoral ceremonies as needed. Teaching & Discipleship • Teach weekly Bible studies for adults, youth, or other age groups as needed. • Provide spiritual guidance, mentoring, and discipleship for members of all ages. • Support and equip lay leaders and teachers in their ministries. Pastoral Care • Provide pastoral counseling, visitation, and prayer support to individuals and families. • Visit the sick, homebound, and those in need within the congregation and community. • Live in the community and be accessible and involved in the lives of church members. Ministry Support • Support and collaborate with children’s, youth, adult, and senior ministries. • Encourage intergenerational engagement and growth in faith. Community Outreach • Lead and participate in outreach efforts to serve and engage the local community. • Foster relationships with local organizations, schools, and leaders to be a visible and caring presence. • Inspire the church to be mission-minded and community-focused. Leadership & Administration • Provide vision and leadership for the spiritual direction of the church. • Work collaboratively with deacons and church leadership on planning, decision-making, and church governance. • Help guide the church in alignment with Baptist doctrine and values. Qualifications: • A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. • A clear calling to pastoral ministry and the ability to communicate and live out the Gospel. • Ordained (or willing to be ordained) as a Baptist pastor. • Sound knowledge of the Bible and Baptist doctrine. • Experience in pastoral leadership (preferred but not required). • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. • A heart for rural ministry and a commitment to live in and serve the local community.
