The First Baptist Church of Gretna is prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor to inspire and nurture spiritual growth both inside and outside the walls of our church. Our ideal candidate would have a Master of Divinity degree, ministry experience, effective preaching and communication skills, and a heart for reaching God’s people through pastoral care and community engagement.

First Baptist Church is a warm and inviting church which hosts 75-100 congregants on any given Sunday. The church family consists mostly of Baptist congregants, but others who have practiced outside of the Baptist faith have found FBCG to be a welcoming place to worship and find community.

We are known in our community as a church that meets needs through a variety of means. We reach beyond our community as we support mission causes generously and send mission teams and disaster response teams across Virginia, the US, and the world.

We are affiliated with the Baptist General Association of Virginia, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, and the Baptist World Alliance. We welcome women to hold any and all leadership roles in our church.

Our location in Gretna, Virginia combines the best features of small town living with the convenience of numerous larger cities within easy driving distance. We have been called “the church at the light”, and we are seeking a pastor who will help us shine that light ever brighter.
