Bethel Baptist Church, is located in a beautiful countryside setting, just outside of South Boston, in Halifax County in the region known as Southside Virginia. We are aligned with the Baptist General Association of Virginia and the Dan River Baptist Association having served our Lord and the surrounding community for 136 years. We are a group of maturing believers with a wonderful history and future. We strive to live our lives in accordance to Jesus’ Great Commandment and Commission. We survived the pandemic era and find ourselves in a positive position theologically, financially and joyfully. Besides the Pastor, there are two part-time staff members. With the recent announcement of the retirement of our pastor, we are seeking a successor who: -manifests the characteristics of love found in 1 Corinthians 13; -has a strong biblical understanding and demonstrates it through teaching and preaching; -exhibits a vibrant personal relationship with our Lord, anxious to engage with members of the church and develop community relationships; -is skilled in using social media and technology; -appreciative of our history, celebrating our victories, and equipping us for our future ministry; -enjoys a rural lifestyle and culture, while enjoying easily accessible conveniences; -has enjoyed a tenure of successful ministry; -has attained a theological education from an accredited theological institute; -can embrace that Bethel Baptist Church is a place to Belong & Become while relating to the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message.
