About the Role Parkwood Baptist Church in Annandale, Va is seeking a passionate, spiritually mature, and visionary Pastor for Next Generation Ministries to lead and develop ministry to children, youth, young adults, and their families. This person will help cultivate a Christ-centered environment where the next generation can grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, serve others, and become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. Primary Responsibilities •Provide spiritual leadership, vision, and direction for ministries serving youth, young adults, and families. •Recruit, train, equip, and encourage volunteers and ministry leaders. •Develop age-appropriate discipleship opportunities, Bible teaching, small groups, worship experiences, service projects, and outreach events. •Partner with parents and guardians by providing resources, encouragement, and pastoral care as they disciple youth and young adults. •Leads the Parkwood Youth Ministry team and works closely with our Children’s Ministry Coordinator. •Work collaboratively with the pastoral team, Parkwood staff and ministry teams to align Next Generation Ministries with the overall mission and vision of Parkwood Baptist Church. •Build healthy relationships with our youth, young adults, families, volunteers, schools, and the surrounding community. •Oversee ministry schedules, curriculum, communication, safety practices, and ministry budget. •Participate in worship services, church-wide events, pastoral care, and other ministry responsibilities as needed. Qualifications •A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a clear calling to ministry and a growing personal faith aligned with Baptist beliefs and theology. •Have pursued or actively pursuing pastoral ordination. •Experience in youth and young adult ministry, with a proven track record of successfully engaging and discipling young individuals. •Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to youth and young adults from diverse backgrounds. •Creative and innovative mindset, capable of designing engaging and relevant programs and activities. •Proficiency in using social media and technology for communication and outreach. •Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop teams of volunteers. •A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. •Committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
