Primary Responsibilities Preaching and Worship Leadership • Faithfully preach and teach the Word of God in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message. • Lead Sunday worship services and other services as needed (e.g., special services, Funerals, Weddings, Lord’s Supper). • Work cooperatively with church staff, musicians, and worship leaders to plan meaningful worship services. Pastoral Care • Provide pastoral care, counseling, hospital visitation, and ministry to members as needed. • Officiate weddings and funerals as requested and available. • Offer spiritual guidance and encouragement to individuals and families within the congregation. Church Leadership and Administration • Provide general oversight of church operations • Work with deacons, committees, and staff to ensure continuity of ministry. • Serve as a non-voting advisor to church leadership teams, as appropriate. • Maintain healthy boundaries of permanent pastor. Transitional Leadership • Help the congregation maintain unity, morale, and spiritual focus. • Identify and address any unresolved issues that may hinder the future ministry of the church. • Prepare the church spiritually and organizationally for new pastoral leadership. Denominational and Community Relations • Represent the church in associational and community functions as appropriate. • Support Baptist cooperative efforts and missions. Qualifications • Ordained Baptist minister in good standing. • Affirmation of and adherence to the Baptist Faith and Message. • Demonstrated experience in pastoral ministry; interim or transitional ministry experience preferred. • Strong preaching, leadership, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to lead with wisdom, humility, and sensitivity during times of transition. Term of Service This is an “AT WILL” employment agreement. Nothing in the policies of the Church or this offering shall be construed to alter the “AT WILL” nature of Pastir’s status with the Church. Church and Pastor understand that Church may terminate Pastor’s employment at any time for any reason or for no reason provided it is not terminated in violation of State or Federal law.
