Position Summary: We are excited to welcome a new worship keyboardist who will help us create a worship liturgy that speaks to our diverse congregation and our city. The worship keyboardist at OTCC is responsible for supporting the Pastor for Worship and Engagement in leading of worship and attending weekly worship rehearsals and Sunday morning worship services. This is a part-time and in-person role, roughly 6-8 hours per week, and pays $250 per week. Description: The successful candidate is a well-versed musician who is excited about creating and leading in a diverse worship environment. Experienced in playing worship keys in a variety of styles, the candidate will help lead a congregation that is both traditional and contemporary and is extremely diverse. OTCC is a Baptist church but is made up of people from all different denominational backgrounds. This lends itself to thinking outside the box when it comes to creating new worship expressions, and the worship keyboardist will have the opportunity to speak directly to this. Essential Functions: • Prepares for and attends weekly worship rehearsals. • Helps plan and lead weekly worship services. • Supports the Pastor for worship and Engagement in creating a unique expression of worship for OTCC. • Occasionally leads worship on Sunday Mornings. Additional Considerations: • Ability to collaborate and co-create with the team. • Membership at Old Town Community Church is preferred, but not required. Requirements: • Follower of Jesus • Capacity to read music and play by ear. • Can play all types of traditional, gospel, and contemporary worship music. • Ability to accompany if/when necessary. • Experience leading and playing on worship teams.
