The transition to college for recent graduates brings with it a lot of exciting new life experiences. New friends, new schedules, and new freedoms. For many, it will be their first opportunity in young adulthood to make their own decisions about their faith. They will determine for themselves how they will prioritize their walk with Jesus amongst all the other interests and assignments competing for their time and attention. Prayer, Bible study, church attendance, worship, missions, and time in Christian community – they will have to determine for themselves how their faith will shape not only their schedules, but also their values, friendships, and activities.

Fortunately, on college campuses across Virginia, there are friendly and flourishing Christian communities supported by BGAV churches to help guide these emerging adults through this formational season of life. BGAV’s Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCMs) are excited to welcome incoming students into loving relationships and provide the vital communities of discipleship, worship, and fellowship that will sustain them through their college journeys.

Whether your church is sending recent graduates off to college for their first year or welcoming home students on summer break, we hope that you will encourage your students to connect with BGAV campus ministries while they are away at school.
