Hurricane Ida made landfall as the strongest storm to hit Louisiana since the 1850s and has left catastrophic damage in its wake.  Virginia Baptist Disaster Response (DR) is placing volunteers ON ALERT for possible response to Hurricane Ida. We are in contact with those leading the response in Louisiana and Mississippi and receiving regular updates. We are preparing to respond in feeding, cleanup, and crisis care. We are also monitoring the storm as Virginia is in the current path. We will mobilize when requested but have not been requested yet. We will provide updates as we receive them.
