Impact Missions and Uptick Launch New Church Leadership Cohort
Cohort intends to strengthen church leadership, discipleship, and mission work
A new, year-long cohort designed to strengthen church leadership, discipleship, and mission engagement has begun through a partnership between BGAV’s Impact Missions and Uptick teams.
For many years, Uptick has invested in leadership and discipleship training with young pastors. At the same time, the Impact Missions team has been exploring ways to equip congregations seeking to strengthen church health, deepen discipleship, and engage their communities more effectively. Leaders from both ministries saw an opportunity to pursue those goals together through a pilot cohort for church leadership teams.

The cohort brings together leaders from congregations across Virginia for shared learning, discussion, and encouragement. Participants will meet both in person and online throughout the coming year as they explore practical approaches to ministry and mission that can help congregations grow and thrive within their unique local settings.
The first retreat took place in May at BGAV’s office in Richmond. According to cohort leaders, the gathering fostered meaningful conversations, new relationships, and a shared sense of God’s leading as participants considered how to build cultures of mission and discipleship within their churches.
Organizers hope the cohort will provide both practical tools and a supportive community as church leaders learn from one another and discern how best to serve their congregations and communities.
