New for 2025: Annual Meeting Breakouts Get an Upgrade
New smaller-group opportunities for learning and engagement this year
If you’ve been to an annual meeting in the past several years, you’re familiar with breakout sessions. This year, in response to attendees’ evaluations and comments, we’ve made some changes to the way we approach the smaller-group opportunities for learning and engagement. Along with the new approach, these sessions have new names that reflect the experiences you’ll have.
In Abingdon this November 10-12, you’ll see two new types of learning opportunities:
Learning Labs
Offering interactive, hands-on sessions, Learning Labs are designed to equip attendees with practical tools they can immediately apply. Each will feature a real-life ministry example and offer concrete takeaways, coaching, and resources. Learning labs will occur during three different time slots—one on Monday and two on Tuesday—to allow attendees several opportunities to choose labs that meet their needs and pique their interests.
Insight Sessions
These are content-driven presentations for groups to share updates, insights, or host Question & Answer sessions. Each insight session, offered during one time slot on Tuesday, will be 45 minutes long and address a specific, focused topic for information sharing and/or discussion.
Where to Find Updated Information
To see the full, current list of Learning Labs and Insight Sessions (and all general information about BGAV’s Annual Meeting, including registration), visit meeting.bgav.org.
Or better yet: if you’ve already registered for the meeting, use the email address you registered with to access Whova, our all-in-one digital resource with the most up-to-date information about the event. If you did this step already when you registered this year or last year, great job! You’re already well on your way to having all the info you need, whether you’re a guest or a messenger from your BGAV-participating congregation.
We look forward to seeing you in Abingdon or on the livestream this November!
