Relational Discipleship
V3 church-planting couple shares a ministry approach of relational discipleship
by Matt Alexander, V3 staff
Jeremy and Monica Chambers recently partnered with BGAV, bringing years of experience starting, coaching, and mobilizing missional communities in more than 30 locations since 2013. Shaped by their time in V3’s coaching cohort, their ministry is rooted in relational presence, contextualization, and shared leadership.

“We were already starting communities when we joined V3,” Jeremy reflects, “but learning alongside others and using V3’s tools helped us focus even more on the importance of neighborhood context. We still carry that with us today when we coach others or start something new.”
Now living in Denver, they are forming community in their own neighborhood. Recently, they’ve connected with a network of young adults who gather for long-form “legacy games” that span several months. As they got to know this group, Jeremy and Monica felt a nudge to be present—to join in, listen, and love.
“It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster,” Jeremy shares. “Some dynamics got toxic. But we sensed we were meant to stay, so we kept showing up.” That consistent presence opened space for honesty and healing.
“Eventually, people started sharing stories of pain, trauma, and guilt. We’re seeing grace slowly at work.” The journey is still unfolding, but moments of hope are emerging.
“We’ve had the chance to share our faith with several people,” Jeremy says. “One guy told us no one had ever loved him like we had—and that he wants to spend more time with us. That’s what this is: slow, relational discipleship."
