Skateboarding Outreach in Southeast Asia

How a V3 cohort helped reach skateboarders for Christ across Asia

Last year, Dale traveled from Taiwan to Japan for the Action Sports Leaders Summit, hosted by V3’s coach, JP Koch. During a conversation, JP sensed Dale was in a time of transition and invited him to join the new V3 Southeast Asia cohort. Dale was immediately interested, and thanks to God’s provision, finances didn’t stand in the way—JP raised the needed support.

Dale, a passionate skateboarder, was deeply impacted by the cohort. His dream is to reach skaters in Taipei, but his influence stretches across southeast Asia through his skate ministry connections.

One of his cohort peers, Joel, is a church planter in a poor area of southern Manila. When Joel mentioned a nearby skatepark, Dale connected him with two brothers involved in skate ministry in the Philippines.

The story didn’t stop there. In March 2025, a skate outreach team from the US visited Taiwan and then traveled to the Philippines, where they teamed up with Joel and local skate leaders to host a contest at the skatepark. That day, Joel met several young men who were eager to be discipled—men whom he had been praying for. Until then, his community had only included women. The skatepark became the very place God used to answer his prayers.

Dale is now working toward building a team and launching a faith community for skaters and their families in Taipei. Let’s pray that more laborers will join him in this harvest.
